Another essential key to empowering these girls is proper healthcare. The Shakti School has sponsored 3 medical camps so far, where all the girls were weighed and examined by a paediatrician.

Those in need were then given medicines for problems including malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies, parasites, and skin deceases such as scabies and eczema, which are very common to children in poor areas due to lack of hygiene. In July of 2023 we will be conducting a dental camp for the entire school (including the teachers), and are now fundraising to raise enough money to be able to pay for all the required treatments. An initial exam done by a dentist earlier in the year revealed that at least 60 of the girls have cavities, so it will not be cheap to get the work done! Please donate if you can.

As many of the girls are underweight, we have increased the quality of nutrition in their daily meal, and are also giving each girl a glass of fresh milk mixed with protein powder, plus a nutritional snack and iron supplement each day.
